Race Report #3: The Iola Ignitor

Image

The rolling pine forests of Iola were the setting for another amazing fall weekend on the trails. This year's course had some minor tweaks over last year, but our racers all seemed to be pleased with the modifications. Saturday's afternoon pre-ride was followed by our annual trip to the Waupaca Pizza Hut. After a cool evening in the tents, conditions waking up on Race Sunday could not have been any better.

We had a few riders battling through some ailments and injuries, but the team definitely left it all out there on the trail. Three of our riders once again had Podium performances. Special recognition is due to Ethan - who decisively won a sprint for 5th place, but due to an technical issues with the results system, was omitted from the official awards presentation (Be sure to check out the exciting photo sequence of his finish below). The Hounds just missed the Team Competitions podium (4th place), but are still sitting solidly in third place for the season and in the hunt to move up! See below for detailed race results and photos from the event...
