The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Trails are some of the best riding that the Midwest has to offer - so the team was excited to make the long Northwoods trek for a brand new race in the young Wisconsin series. The last-minute shift to the legendary 'OO' Trailhead near Seeley played out perfectly allowing the Hounds to take in a race circuit featuring some of the best flowing singletrack in the area, as well as the punishing hills and wide-open ski trails of the American Birkebeiner course. While the fall colors had not yet even begun to appear, the weather was also ideal for the team's first overnight camping of the season.
Three of our riders managed to improve on their podium positions from the first race and all of our racers responded enthusiastically to the new challenges presented by a course like none of us had seen before. The Hounds returned to the podium as well in the Team Competition, locking down Third Place! Additional congratulations to Sean for finishing his first NICA mountain bike race!
