The Final Showdown...League organizers promised us progressively harder races and they certainly did deliver! Cascade Mountain was a bit frosty, but conditions were perfect and the ski hill provided a truly championship-worthy course. Climbing switchbacks and traversing the open slopes were the order of the day. It was inspiring to see the Hounds tackle this challenge with their usual ferocity. The mountain managed to claim a couple of rear derailleurs from us - but overall, we got the better of it.
Following the race, overall season awards were given, and Shorewood brought home a spot on the podium (5th place Team overall). All four teams that finished ahead of us were composite teams, representing riders from multiple schools. Ava took her usual place on the individual podium for this race, in addition to 4th place overall for the season. Every single one of our racers continued to improve right up and through the last weekend...particularly impressive, given the increasing difficulty from race to race. Great job to everyone.
